Usually when describing my favorite moments, they are filled with these romantic tales. Generally they involve tears. Not so much with Nate + Cassie. Allow me to paint the picture.
The men have taken their places at the altar. The maids have all taken their stroll down the center aisle. The flower girls gave their unintentionally cute and humorous, quiet parade to the stage. That only leaves one more entrance. Nate stands very still. Shaky smile painted on his face. The music shifts and the audience spots the source of Nate’s smile. Only a silhouette of a bride and her father stands at the entry to the chapel. As they slowly glide to altar the shadow morphs to a brilliant white as eyes adjust to the lights. Nate’s eyes are fixed on his bride and Cassie’s on her groom. Cassie passes me and meets her groom at the front. The mood changes. Nobody is moving and Nate’s smile grows wider. I take a new position for a better perspective only to reveal why this is my favorite moment. Cassie is laughing. This is not a chuckle or a giggle. She is out of breath, eyes clinched, funniest joke ever told, laughing. The moment passes. The ceremony continues and the guests are none the wiser.
Later when I asked about this spontaneous laughter Cassie chuckled and explained, “Oh my soul, that was some Holy Spirit laughter.” Well I am happy to have been a part of it. I can honestly say that it set the tone for the rest of day.
Enjoy the show :)
And of course your photogs hard at work :)
The When and Where:
Nate + Cassie were married May 25th, 2013. They chose The Schindler Center in Xenia, OH to host their big day. This was such a cool venue. The ceremony was held at the historic Collier Chapel. It was storybook, being lit from high windows and kissed with light by the elegant candles hugging the steps to the stage. The reception was located on the opposite side of the Schindler Center at the Schindler Banquet center. Decorated with personal touches from Nate + Cassie, namely the antique tea pots and then finished with high end details from Party Pleasers. You can check out the Schindler Center here.
